Description:

Trompetstraat, Delft (c. 1830s)
Signed lower right
Watercolour on paper, 18.6 x 14.2 cm
Note:
Around the age of fourteen, Bosboom moved to Delft to apprentice with Bartholomeus van Hove, who was not only a painter but also the director of the Delft Academy of Fine Arts. This apprenticeship provided Bosboom with a rigorous training in the fundamentals of drawing and painting, particularly focusing on architectural subjects. Delft, with its rich architectural heritage and historical significance, offered Bosboom ample inspiration. The city's iconic buildings, canals, and churches became central motifs in his early works.
